I ran the " Cherry" through 2 different speaker systems using jazz, piano, classical, new age, techno and Rock. It performed magnificently. The highs were crisp and the lows firm and deep. At low volumes and high the "Cherry" performed well. Instument placement and depth of field are improved. Female vocals are warm. I am very impressed and highly recommend. -- High end at a reasonable price

Huge power and very beautiful. Hard to go wrong with this amp. If you can afford it, that is. Other amps in this class like Musical Fidelity, Moon (Simaudio), Nagra, Theta, and Krell are actually more expensive, even in the tens of thousands. Looks like Digital Amplifier Company is moving up in the world. -- Can I have a Cherry on top?

The Cherry amp is even better than the DAC4800A. For one, it looks awesome with a really thick and pretty brushed aluminum face plate. The deep red color looks fantastic in a stack of equipment or out in the open. It's also 10 pounds heavier than the DAC4800A, and has a giant 1500W transformer! Just like the DAC4800A, it's built like a tank. The most important difference is the added headroom (yes, even more!), which you can really hear.

These are some of my previous comments about the DAC4800A that are also applicable here:
Sonics are just about perfect. It did great with old recordings like Jazz Singer (Neil Diamond) and Sinatra (Reprise Collection). I listened to Maroon 5 and the punch was there. I listened to a Telarc 1812 disc and nearly blew the windows out with the cannon shots! Some Diana Krall (World on a String) sounded live. Great job!

The Cherry is recommended even more enthusiastically than DAC4800A.
